What you Really Need to Hear on those Hard Homeschooling Days

Homeschool

My Mom gave the BEST pep talks!!

Whenever I felt frustrated or discouraged or overwhelmed or feeling inadequate, I would call mom and “cry” on her shoulder.

She would listen.  She would always listen.  And then, probably because she really didn’t know what to say that would help, she would say what I was REALLY needing to hear:

You are a good mom!

You are doing a good job!

I love you!

WOW!   I MISS THOSE PEP TALKS!

Mom passed away in the fall of 2010.  Just 5 months after my youngest son was born.  Sometimes, when I am talking with one of my siblings, we reminisce how wonderful her pep talks were.  Simple, but wonderful.

That is what I hope to do for you.

Motherhood is hard.   Homeschooling is hard.  It is certainly not the easy path.  It is not the path of least resistance.  My purpose in this website is not just to share with you some great resources, but to hopefully give you some encouragement to press forward when you doubt yourself.

Over my years of motherhood and homeschooling, I have learned that I cannot do this alone.  I am not doing it alone.

I have Heaven’s help in this journey.

That help often comes in the form of answers to questions just when I need them.  Things that are said by friends or someone on the internet I haven’t even met just when I need them.  Solutions and/or resources that fall into my path, just when I need them.

Honestly!  It has happened SO! MANY! TIMES!  OVER and OVER and OVER again, that I no longer doubt that I have my Heavenly Father supporting me.

And sometimes that help comes to my mind in my mother’s voice telling me that:  I am a good mom.  I am doing a good job.  She still loves me.

I know.  Without a doubt.  That if you feel called to this work, you WILL receive the help you need.  There will still be hard days.  There will be challenges.  There will be frustrations.

But there will also be JOYS.

Lots of them.

And you will be able to look back and see why you were led on the path you were let to walk.  You, and your family, will be stronger because of them.  You will be able to see the many tender mercies that blessed you along the way.

I want you to know that you are not alone on this journey!  Heaven WILL help you.  You ARE doing a good Job.
