“You should be grateful”
“Go ahead. Say thank you”
“You better be grateful for all I’m doing for you.”
Sound familiar? It usually begins when you are very young. And you’re not alone.
In November we take the time to at least pay lip service to gratitude.
But is your gratitude laced with shame?
Have you ever felt that this “good gift” you were given came with a large side of guilt?
…that to be blessed you are causing an imposition?
…or if you are blessed that means that someone else has to go without?
…or you have to prove yourself worthy?
If this has been your earthly experience, it might be a stretch to think of a loving, abundant God who honestly, truly, feels joy and happiness in His ability to freely and abundantly bless you.
If you feel guilt or shame when you are blessed, perhaps you are actually saying “No thank you” to God’s blessings.
Since He also honors our choices, He won’t bless us if we are unwilling to receive the blessing.
Can you envision a loving Heavenly Father eager to bless? Longing to share? Excited to arrange all things for our good?
I am going to be starting another round of Joyful Heart Mastery at the beginning of December.
I so love these experiences and sharing these tools. They have blessed my life beyond belief.
This course teaches tools to reconnect with the joy you felt as a child.
We even talk about how to accept and receive God’s gifts… Shame Free.
